distant_winterlands This is a modern-day, sort of canon though slightly altered headcanon!Russia. In contrast
to his canon counterpart, this Ivan isn't as childish, "cute" nor does he play dumb, instead
he is more like you would expect a man of Russian heritage to be.
EDIT: I've been inspired by others on the DR after reading a lot of threads, and I'm planning
to keep him more satirical than I originally planned to.
At first appearance, he is taller than what the canon Russia would be, towering with his
196cm (6'4") high above most other nations. His bone structure is burly, and despite having
a certain roundness to his face, it's accentuated by some sharp angles along his nose,
cheek bones, and jaw line. If you were to stumble into him it couldn't be described less
than to stumble into a wall.

Personality-wise he is not as jolly as his canon twin, although he will always greet people
with a friendly smile, except on his worst days. Ivan has got a lingering, unreadable aura
about him, and eyes that bore into you analysing everything. He's known for talking in
riddles from time to time, and always has his friend sarcasm ready at hand.
Despite seeming wise and analytical, he can also be very childish and competitive in
some situations. (Especially if those situations include a certain North American nation.)
He is stubborn, hates to lose, and is used to always getting what he wants.
When it comes to family, he is very overprotective, although he does keep his younger
sister at arms length, as her presence (if it's accompanied by proposals) makes him
claustrophobic and unknowing what to do.
Occasionally Ivan can be seen depressed or even downright suicidal, as his history is a
long and bloody one. Recent memories of power from the Soviet Union, and then when
those powers began to falter into what he is now, is what makes up a big part of the big
black pit in his mind. The other part is filled with the despair of his people as they once
again fight against a corrupt government trying to take control over a people that wants
freedom and equality.
These split opinions are tearing him apart.

In Russia resides many masters of different arts and skills, and Ivan is no less than equal
to the masters of each skills. Amongst these you can find fighting skills such as Systema,
S.A.M.B.O., and elite soldier Spetsnaz training, just as well as more artistic traits like playing
the piano, dance, and poetry. He is also a great cook, in his own cuisine.

As is much well known, Ivan holds a bad habit of drinking a whole lot, though being
immortal has helped build up his resistance to the point that it'd be easier to get a horse
drunk off it's feet before Ivan himself would stumble over.
Amongst the bad habits lies his excessive smoking. (Based off Russia being one of the
world's largest importers of tobacco.) This would leave a constant scent of cigarettes
around him if you were to come up close enough.
